PO numbers cannot be overridden but you can reference an internal number in the Reference or PO Notes fields.
PO numbers are automatically generated with each project starting at #1. You can customize the PO number format across the company in Workflows or at the project level (for example, use the project# as the PO prefix: 123456-1), but you cannot override the PO# with your own internal number.
We recommend referencing your internal # in the Reference or PO Notes fields on the PO. Both options give you the option to display the information on the PO or not.
- An advantage to using the Reference field is that it will display on the PO Processing dashboard, and you can use the filters to search by Reference.
